The Art of Michelangelo Buonarroti
This tour is dedicated to the discovery of the less crowded museums housing works by the Master. Beyond the Accademia Gallery and the Uffizi Gallery, there are many more museums where you can absorb the beauty of the art of the divine Michelangelo.
Your tour begins with the Bargello Museum, ancient medieval palace, which today houses the Museum of Florentine Renaissance sculpture. Here, you’ll discover - alongside works by Donatello that inspired Michelangelo himself - some of the master’s sculptures, such as Bacchus, the Tondo Pitti, and Brutus. Your tour then continues to the Laurentian Library, exceptional example of architecture by Michelangelo, followed by the church of San Lorenzo. Here, your experience in the footsteps of Michelangelo culminates with the Medici Chapels, burial place of the Medici family. Michelangelo designed the moving New Sacristy, and decorated them with some of his most famous sculptures, the allegories of Day and Night, Dawn and Dusk.
